Paul Mesaros Gallery September 3 – October 8, 2009 Opening reception: September 3- 6pm Artist lecture: October 17 – 5pm Jason Lee Studies in Modern Euthenics Recent sculpture from WVU faculty exhibition Jason Lee is an Assistant Professor in Foundations Mesaros Galleries October 15 – November 20, 2009 Opening reception: October 15 – 6pm Artist lecture: Tim McFarlane -5pm Concurrent Curated painting and sculpture traveling exhibition organized by the Samek Art Gallery, Bucknell University, the Ewing Gallery, University of Tennessee, and the Mesaros Galleries at WVU. Concurrent, an exhibition featuring the paintings of Natalie Alper, Boston; Tim McFarlane, Philadelphia; Larry Webb, New York City; and sculptor Diane Simpson, Chicago. The three painters and one sculptor all make work that is abstract though the exhibition represents four distinct approaches and outcomes. Laura Mesaros Gallery November 30 – December 11, 2009 MFA Exhibition Patrick Jones The Division of Art presents the Master of Fine Arts annual exhibition in the Mesaros Galleries. The body of work presented by each candidate represents the highest level of achievement as they receive their Master of fine arts degree. Laura and Paul Mesaros Galleries January 21 – March 5, 2010 Artist lecture: January 21 – 5pm Opening reception: January 21 – 6pm Nicola Lopez: Urban Transformations Nicola Lopéz’s energetic prints and print-based installations present abstractions of urban landscapes. Architectural references are not specific, but rather reflect the evolution that a built environment undergoes. In the accretion of imagery and physical material, a history and structure are built in her work that reflects the layers of architecture, history, technology and topography that make up the world depicted. This exhibition is a collaboration between the University of Wisconsin’s Chazen Museum and WVU’s Mesaros Galleries.
